Haikus

1.
Unaware of the
Peril of convenience,
We keep making things.

2.
Things she can't teach me,
Like her music, dance and food,
Are why I love her.

163.
It does not feel like
Britain, with open windows
And salsa playing.

4.
Wise men are stupid,
When they talk about money
Like it's important.

5.
We see the obscene,
And call it normality,
Desensitised man.

6.
Mighty trunk stands firm,
Branches bend but seldom break,
The leaves float away.

7.
For posterity:
Seventeen syllables that
Don't tell you a thing!

8.
We British look back
At past glory we now lack,
Ashamed of our pride.

9.
Trains and cars stay still,
My footsteps overtake them,
No commute for me.

10.
Lying next to you
Thinking glorious nothings,
Mornings melt away.

11.
I sink, don't swim in
The trough of afternoons off
Without you around.

12.
Raindrops lash the door,
Windows rattle in the wind.
The fire warms us all.

13.
Pompous toads croaking
In Westminster. They make noise,
But achieve nothing.

14.
Melodic birdsong,
Over rhythmic, chanting winds,
Nature's symphony.

15.
Minds left to fallow,
Fields and forests swallowed,
This is mankind's doom.

16.
Away from it all,
No cars, ads, money or stuff,
The whole world is mine.
